Americas

Content

The Americas circuit is divided into two major sections: one presenting the Americas from the 17th century to today, and one that examines pre-Hispanic America before the European conquest. At the start of this section, at the transitional point of the "Africa" and "Americas" areas, an area is dedicated to Afro-American cultures.

Since the museum’s opening in 2006, the Americas section has undergone major museological modifications. More than 80% of the displays have been redesigned and renewed in line with new acquisitions, the museum's preservation process, but also in a desire to shine a new light on the 100,000 items in the Americas collection.
