A visit to the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac is like a journey... The museum offers many tools and activities aimed at visitors of all ages, designed to meet all needs and desires.

Prepare your Visit

Entrance to the museum is free for disabled persons and a companion.

Disabled persons also enjoy reduced rates on all activities.

Groups can also book activities at a reduced rate.

The museum also has an “Easy to Read and Understand” Practical Guide designed for mentally-disabled persons and produced in collaboration with URAPEI Île de France. Available from museum reception or via download here.

Some areas of the museum are dark. Torches are available free of charge from the cloakroom and orientation tables allow you to find your way around the museum.
Welcome agents are available to welcome you and accompany you if required.

Tools for an Independent Visit

“Les Experts quai Branly” iPad app contains 4 different journeys (Asia, Africa, Oceania, Americas), enabling users to discover distant cultures through games, images, animations, etc. The app is adapted for persons with intellectual disabilities of all ages.
IPads are available for loan free of charge at reception in the entrance hall.

The audio guide offers a journey through the museum with commentaries on selected objects.

Exhibition visit

Easy to Read and Understand” summaries of texts are available on factsheets in all major exhibitions (in Galerie Jardin).

Cultural Activities

Discover the museum and exhibitions alone or with family or friends.

The museum runs two guided tours for mentally-disabled persons per semester.
All the workshops and narrated tours are accessible to mentally-disabled persons.

All these activities are designed and led by trained guides.

The museum also runs a program of performances, concerts and events which are accessible to all audiences.

Discover the museum in a group

Organizations, schools and specialist institutions can book an activity for groups on a preferred date. Book at least 15 days in advance and provide useful information on your group so that the guide can adapt the tour as required.
