Launched in 2007 by the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, this biennial allows the public to enjoy a stroll punctuated by contemporary, non-Western photographs along the banks of the Seine beside the Museum and in the Museum's garden.
Under the artistic direction of Françoise Huguier, this third edition brings together 46 photographers from each of the four continents – Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Americas. Particular importance is given to the presentation of the environment and to the photographers’ creative context.
More than just a simple directory of the event, the catalogue presents, in addition to a wide selection of the works displayed, a collection of theoretical essays providing an overview of present day international photography.
