The AREVA Corporate Foundation helps improve access to culture
The AREVA Corporate Foundation is committed to providing access to culture for all. Alongside the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, the Foundation supports activities dedicated to professionals and volunteers working to promote social cohesion.
Specific programmes aimed at people at the margins of cultural practices take place at the Museum, but also as extra-mural activities in order to provide access to audiences who would not otherwise visit the Museum.
In 2015, the AREVA Corporate Foundation is sponsoring the following activities:
- Awareness-raising visits for almost 300 local community associations.
- The provision of information to social stakeholders via a dedicated page on the Museum's website and newsletter.
- The encouragement of group visits, guided or narrated tours at reduced rates. More than 400 groups of this type visit the Museum each year.
- Involvement in organising the "Journée des associations” [Communities Day] during which these associations and their target audiences are invited free of charge to attend a festive day of visits and events which receives more than 700 visitors every year.
Meeting new audiences
In 2013 and 2014, the AREVA Foundation financed the first "Ateliers nomades" extra-mural activities organised by the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, at Cergy-Pontoise and then at Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil.
On the agenda were presentations of works from the Collections by museum conservators; workshops connected with the arts and civilizations of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas; festive evenings; storytelling sessions; activities in libraries and media libraries; interactive activities with artists etc. The program was based on a two-week stay at each site and was organised in collaboration with the networks of associations in each location. This mediation was extended by means of visits and events at the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac organised free of charge for residents of the partner municipalities.
