Résumé
The Nisu, a sub group of the so called Yi previously called Lolo by the Hans are more than one million people in the southern part of Yunnan, belonging to tibeto burman family. The area of Sheping, north of Honghe is home of the northern group of Nisu, called flower belt Yi in chinese. Here you can listen to 3 parts of those northern Nisu : 1 to 9 : Pu Zao is a 47 years old Bimo (a kind of shaman who can recite/sing from ancient books written with specific YI characters) recorded in Xiao Chong village, 10 to 15 : Pu Xiu Wen is a older woman singing with her 2 daughters, and 16, 17 an instrumental part composed of stringed instruments recorded in Xue Gua Chong village.
