Résumé
In the secondary forest northwest of the village of Meno (Washkuk Hills), Yessomari lays out a plantation. Women (relations by marriage as well as blood relations) begin to clear the undergrowth from the steep bit of forest. Then Yessomari and young male relatives of his fell all the trees in the peripheral areas of the prospective garden. Only the thickest ones are felled in the central area. Finally a group of relatively young men remove the leafy branches from the trees that have been left standing in the centre. The dry leaves and branches are burned on a suitable day when there is unabstructed sunshine. The planting can begin. (Cf. Film E 2289).
