Résumé
The DVD contains the films: C 7063 'All Things Bright and Beautiful', C 7064 'Click Click', C 7065 'Everyday Tales (Bhilai, Chattisghar, India)' and C 7066 'Path is the Destiny'. ; All Things Bright and Beautiful : Raghvendra Chand Singh and Tejendra Tamraker travel to Germany for the first time in their lives. They visit a farm near Göttingen to explore modern-day dairy-farming. They capture the daily routines of their hosts on camera, trying to understand the latter's attitude towards their livestock. Being from India they are used to quite different notions of how one should think of and deal with cows. ; Click click : The film portrays the filmmaker''s mother, living with her husband in a small market town in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. Her husband is a professional photographer, and over the years of living with him, she has discovered the art of photography for herself as well. The camera follows her on her daily routine, working alongside her husband. ; Everyday tales : Life has changed a lot in Bhilai after the Steel Plant has been started. A grandfather explains to his grandson how the situation arose between industrialization and traditional agricultural life. The traditional joint family feels the differences between the common every day life (village, market place, and fieldwork) and the so-called developments of industrialization like jobs and regular income or higher education for children. Traditionally the people were paddy growers, like the grandfather. They had to give up their land for the Bhilai Steel Plant. All village people were afraid of what would come in the future. Many took the offered jobs. As a member of the local panchayat he tried to organize and support paddy growing. Now he combines both - industrial job and traditional agriculture - successfully and well-respected. But the question still remains. ; Path is the destiny : This production follows a family of itinerant acrobats (Nats) through a long day''s work in the industrial city of Bhilai. It presents a sad but unsentimental picture of traditional entertainers facing unequal competition from the electronic media.
