Description
Légende de la planche : "Plate III. Qöqölö Kachina is always dressed in old clothes. Formerly the costume was of buckskin, but the use of old suits and coats has been the rule for at least fifty years. The mask may be blue or yellow and the skins of several small birds are attached to it. Old sacking generally forms its base. This Kachina sings of game and good hunting and, after his own dance, will often become clownish and burlesque the dances of other societies. Manas similar to Hemis mana (Plate XV) sometimes accompany Qöqölö".[Impression de la planche légèrement floue.]
Usage
