Résumé
Chumbivilcas is a Cusco province that protects an extraordinary cultural and landscape richness, which is little known outside the region. In its cultural heritage, numerous archaeological sites stand out, which were investigated, partially restored and valued in years past by the Ministry of Culture. The valuable heritage of rock art of Chumbivilcas, in the form of paintings and engravings in caves, rock shelters and outdoor blocks, until recently received little attention from researchers. Over a year, between 2013 and 2014, Rainer Hostnig has documented through photographs and information collection at the site, the varied archaeological and natural heritage of the province, getting to know - thanks in large part to the support received by the district conservative guards of the Deconcentrated Directorate of Culture of Cusco - about 70 rock sites, whose description, illustrated with numerous photographs and drawings, forms a central part of this book
