Résumé
Five musicians play in the performance booked for the film take. The official ceremonial music of the Karo-Batak is called Gendang sarunei. It is composed of a Sarunei (Oboe), two Gendang drums, and a very large gong as well as a small one. The first piece 'Mari-mari' (Come over here!) is played in old religious ceremonies to call up the spirits in possession dances. Patam-patam, a rapid dance accompaniment, can be heard at any official festivity.
