On the occasion of the exhibition "Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters", the museum invites you to discover contemporary Australian creation.

As part of the cycle "Contemporary Australian Expressions"

With Luke Styles and the orchestra Le Balcon

Using poems by contemporary Australian authors, field recordings, video creation and electronic music, the composer Luke Styles signs a new instrumental, vocal and electronic piece, that brings nearly 20 musicians on stage. A new dreamlike piece, built around the constellations visible from Australia, and integrating sound recordings made at the country’s stargazing sites.
“The work will connect all peoples through our common link with space and celestial bodies. It will refer to the different cultural interpretations of space and the stars.”

With gratitude to Bill Yidumduma Harney for his generous guidance, encouragement and support, and to the Wardaman peoples, for holding and sharing celestial knowledge of the skies that are referenced herein.
