Arts and culture of the Marquesas Islands

Knowing one's past to look at the future

To accompany the exhibition Matahoata, Arts and society in the Marquesas Islands, 2-day symposium will be held at the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac.

Some twenty specialists, cultural leaders, scholars and artists from the Marquesas Islands, France and the United States will discuss the resources and projects that continue to change Marquesan arts and culture in the 21st century, focusing on several decades of archaeological research and revitalization of the arts.
