International meetings co-produced by the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac and the Académie de France à Rome - Villa Médicis, as part of the Fondation Louis Roederer grant.
The aim of these meetings on new approaches to conservation and the care given to human remains in institutions is to highlight and discuss professional practices in the light of contemporary issues surrounding this unique heritage.
These two days, organised into themed sessions and round-table discussions, are intended to be a time for exchanging and sharing ideas on the uses, feelings, questions, difficulties and prospects in the field of conservation in the broadest sense.
How do institutions today assume their role as guarantors of the care and respect required for the individuals for whom they are responsible? How do the various professionals involved give substance to the recommendations set out in the codes of ethics and professional conduct? How can practices be improved to achieve this?
Aimed at professionals and students, these days are also open to anyone with an interest or curiosity in this subject.
