ASEMUS was founded in September 2000, with the aim of encouraging exchanges on museum collections in Asia and Europe.
The network has developed specific cooperation projects as part of conferences, symposia and workshops.
In the ten years since it was founded, ASEMUS has promoted the strengthening of working relations among museum professionals in Asia and Europe.
Through projects such as the travelling exhibition “Self and Other” and the "Virtual Collection of Masterpieces”, new knowledge of and insights into shared heritage have been made accessible to the general public in Asia and Europe.
