The exhibition invites visitors to discover a range of African exhibits which are little known to the general public: "formless" objects. They are objects of divination, often called "fetishes", in which the human shape is concealed or unrecognisable. The metamorphoses, the add-ons, the successive layers drawn on these objects give them a memory and an imprint that only the diviner can decipher.
This exhibition focuses on different ways of representing the invisible. The objects are witnesses of memories and events, "object-poems" illustrating the outcome of a local history where each element added evokes an action, a historical fact, a personal memory.
