Mechanism for the social sector

Living together mission

Since 2006, the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac participates in the “Living Together” mission, managed by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, in order to combat discrimination in the field of culture.

Currently, around thirty cultural institutions of Ile-de-France cooperate, through the “Living Together” mission, to reach out and meet audiences who are not familiar with cultural institutions. These institutions share the same system:

  • close relationships with the “intermediaries”, participants in the social sector (volunteer and professional) ;
  • a “correspondent” in each institution, a contact person for the intermediaries;
  • free tours for awareness, learning and discovery;
  • adapted mediations;
  • documentation to accompany the tour
  • adapted rates.

Institutions communicate their specific program in a common quarterly newsletter sent to social sector intermediaries and offer shared rendezvous every year (Forum; picnic; discovery tours).
