All order, including the divine, seems fundamentally imperfect, limited and threatened by implosion and as such, humankind is obliged to destroy it. This awareness of disorder seems to be a common factor amongst all civilisations and the disruptive forces appear as essential counterpoints to maintain a sense of equilibrium and continuity. Against this backdrop, technicians, known as the “Masters of Chaos”, are in charge of negotiations with the forces of chaos.
The catalogue focuses on the living word of those active in the symbolic world (shamans, intercessors, etc.). It also presents an unprecedented exploration into the concept of disorder through artists whose works are shown in the exhibition.
