The restoration workshop

Content

The 280 m² of the restoration workshop undertakes all of the conservation and restoration work carried out on the museum's collections.

The restorers ensure the sustainability of the objects by stabilising their deterioration.

In addition, the legibility of the works is restored with a view to presenting them to visitors who come to see the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions and in the context of loans to institutions in France and abroad.

Conservation and restoration must take into account the complexity of the materials that compose these non-European collections while simultaneously respecting their history and usage.
